Ethos and approach

We are a Partnership Nursery with Glasgow City Council.

We recognise that you, the parents, are the prime educators of your children and we value the opportunity to work in partnership with you in equipping them with the necessary skills and experiences to reach their full potential.

We recognise that your child is unique and our practise is child centred at all times. Our dedicated staff provide a wide range of skills, our baby unit has a highly skilled team in place overseen by our manager who has a HND in Midwifery and a Personal Development Award in Childcare.

Following a new pilot scheme for the inspection process launched in 2007 by the Care Commission, Adelaides agreed to take part in this. It was a very positive experience. The themes we were inspected on were:-

1. The Quality of Care and Support

2. Quality of the Environment.

3. Quality of Staffing.

4. Quality of Management and Leadership.

During this process, parents comments were noted :-

‘I very much believe that my child benefits from his time at nursery. It is a lovely multi-cultural environment for him to learn in’

‘I believe Adelaides Nursery is an exceptional example – I really could not have made a better choice for childcare.’

Because it was a pilot scheme, no report was placed by the Care Commission on their web site but the report to us found no requirements nor made any recommendations – a very pleasing inspection.

As an organisation we hold Christian beliefs and seek to promote a positive view of Christianity while maintaining at all times a respect for all cultural and religious backgrounds.

At Adelaides we recognise the parent as the prime educator of the child and therefore value the opportunity to work in partnership with you to ensure that your child reaches his/her full potential.
