Here at Adelaides we recognise the benefits of learning a second language and we provide Spanish lessons weekly for our older children at no extra cost. We are a partnership nursery working closely with Glasgow City Council, we are able to access funding towards fees for those children aged 3-5years and buy in the expertise of a peripatetic teacher who’s input for the implementation of the Curriculum for Excellence is very valuable.
We have many events and activities throughout the year. On a weekly basis all the children visit the local parks weather permitting.
Zoolab visited us in March with many different animals for the children to meet and learn about.
From March to May Pre-school visited The Henry Wood Halls in small groups to enjoy Monster Music, a play set to music performed by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
On June 21st the older children in the nursery visited Ayr for our yearly trip to the seaside.
We also have had visits every few months from our Oral Health Team, accompanied by the Gladigator, one of the team dressed up like an alligator, to teach the children good oral hygiene in a fun way.
Our parents committee together with the nursery plan events and have great fun coming together with the nursery staff.
